Sandbag L-Shaped Sit up


The sandbag is a fantastic tool to use for L-shaped sit up as the load is awkward and shifts within making the stabilizer muscles of the core work that bit harder along with the abdominal muscle group for which the exercise targets.

This exercise also builds great shoulder stability and posture of the upper body.

Laying on back with legs out straight (supine position):

  1. Press sandbag straight up with arms locked out
  2. Push the weight up with initial protraction of shoulders
  3. Sit upright with weight continuing straight up
  4. Finish in 90 degree at hips position. Bag directly overhead.
  5. Control the movement back to beginning and repeat.
